Rating : 3.5/5 ⭐ As a survivor of the corporate Rating : 3.5/5 ⭐ As a survivor of the corporate world for over a decade, I can precisely understand the analogy between corporate and jungle. There are myriads of personalities one encounters in a business day and their traits can be pertinently mapped to those of lions, cubs, fox, etc. Although this book doesn’t do vivisection of the personalities, yet the title is very well suited to the environment. Organized by topics like advertising, burnout, leaders, networking, working hours, etc., the author gives a snippet of advice related to each. It doesn’t deep dive into the topic to explain the nitty-gritty of them but is limited to a single piece of guidance. None of the topics reach beyond a single page except a few where the learning of epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata are correlated to exciting times. It is not intended for a specific category of employees. Whether you are fresher, experienced, a boss, a CEO, or in top management, it touches upon multiple aspects of corporate life. It is not a textbook that will walk you through the concepts with motivational examples but a quick reference guidebook.
Having gone through multiple management books and corporate training, I intended to find some pathbreaking tips. Unfortunately, I didn’t find it. Unarguably, the capsules of wisdom in each chapter hold relevance but some of them are at a pretty elementary level. For instance, being accessible, work-life balance, networking. These tips find a place in almost every management book under the sun. Irrespective of unable to go beyond my expectations, it is still a valuable asset to people lost in the corporate jungle. Easing out your way when nothing seems to work needs a proficient support system. I believe his book can prove to be one. It is worth a read, and I would recommend it. #books #bookstagram #book #reading #booklover #bookworm #bookstagrammer #read #bookish #booknerd #bookaddict #bibliophile #booksofinstagram #instabook #love #bookshelf #bookaholic #reader #libros #b #bookphotography #booklove #art #libri #instabooks #booksbooksbooks #literature #readersofinstagram #author #bhfyp
Rating -5/5⭐ I don’t remember the last time w Rating -5/5⭐ I don’t remember the last time when I had so much fun reading a travel experience. Barb is a witty author with a laudable sense of humor. She has kept the book alive with her clever one-liners and individual style. This book revives the travel experience of a lively trio- Jaya is the leader who can take no-nonsense, Janine is a photographer, and Barb is a shopaholic. In initial experiences, I envisioned Barb, Jaya, and Janine to be young women in their late 20’s on an all-girl trip until I encountered the word “Grandmother”. I went back and checked the pictures, and it further enhanced my enjoyment. The book starts with a humorous exchange of communication for VISA approval and sets the right tone for further chapters. In all 16 chapters, the author has narrated her experience of traveling across Rajasthan and Gujrat. I have been to most of the destinations, and through the author, I have seen them in a different light. While traveling in Rajasthan, she couldn’t contain her childish excitement for camels and Elephants. Even though I live in India, still camels and elephants are scarce to be seen in Delhi. I can relate to the thrill.
I always wanted to know the thoughts of international travelers for my country. This book gave an appropriate opportunity. It is strange to know they also have to face similar tourist traps, scammers, and thugs. Looks like there is no escape for anyone. The book starts with crashing a wedding, and they also encountered a bride on a horse. Being a native Indian, it is unusual, and I have not seen it in my entire life. It’s the bridegroom who sits astride the horse. There are nowhere boring stats and history in it. Wherever needed it is transformed into stories. This book is thoroughly strived to relive the marvelous memories. In the end, there are some relevant travel tips for markets, food, shopping, etc. As the book ends, they didn’t want to end the trip, and I also felt the same. I wish it could go on and on. I relished and lived their every experience. #books #bookstagram #book #reading #booklover #bookworm #bookstagrammer #read #bookish #booknerd #bookaddict #bibliophile #booksofinstagram #instabook

Rating - 3.5/5 ⭐ As the title suggests, this book is an endeavor to uncover the 44 thousand years old history of humankind. In doing so, the author tries to answer some burning questions – In which direction humanity is moving? What is the driving force behind it? Is it moving fast or slow? Why Human rule the earth? The first few chapters are utilized for the concepts like resources, resource group, and how opportunities are significant. After that, things start to make some sense when the concepts come together. In the later chapters, content seems scattered, and many topics look out of place and irrelevant. Numbers and data points appear overwhelming in between. Yet, the outcome is relatable as the author states that humankind is close to the inflection point in its development. The author specialized in complex systems and has used data-based models to explain his study. Throughout the book, he sought to keep it simple with the analogy of pizza and other related things. Despite this, it is not facile for all kinds of readers. It is pleasurable to a class of readers who have an interest in complex models and Math. Other readers may find it laborious to finish the book. Another important thing is that the learnings and outcomes are based on the research done by the author. I believe (and the author also mentioned it) they need external validation to be confirmed as facts. Readability is slightly difficult, as Page 1 and the Last page are referred to multiple times. It is handy for a paperback, but in Kindle versions, navigation is annoying. It is an esoteric piece of work, pertinent to students of science and data. For them, it will be an exciting read. #books #bookstagram #book #reading #booklover #bookworm #bookstagrammer #read #bookish #booknerd #bookaddict #bibliophile #booksofinstagram #instabook #love #bookshelf #bookaholic #reader #libros #b #bookphotography #booklove #art #libri #instabooks #booksbooksbooks #literature #readersofinstagram #author #bhfyp
Rating - 5/5 ⭐ This book has hit during an appr Rating - 5/5 ⭐ This book has hit during an appropriate time when even Jawahar Lal Nehru is struggling to keep his image immaculate. Blinded by the WhatsApp university syllabus, forces have succeeded in character assassination of our first Prime Minister by spreading apocryphal stories. He is painted as a womanizer, anti-Hindu, and reason for almost every predicament in the country even after so many years of his death. Today we hear about mob lynchings on the pretext of – “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and years ago, Nehru had succinctly described the meaning of Bharat Mata. Introduction by the author is a powerful, fact-based, and meticulously written essay of around 50 pages which gives an insight into Nehru’s achievements. He also prostrates the most impudent lies teeming nowadays by facts. All those who judged Nehru’s character by seeing his pictures with women should be ashamed to know that the women in the pictures were his sister and niece. The second part helps to understand the intellectual and logical thought process of Nehru and why he gave more weightage to technology than religion. His vast knowledge about history, world, politics, religions, and Hinduism will let you see him in a revered light. The third section shows how much loved and respected he was/is among fellow leaders and politicians across the world. It also includes views of Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, emphasizing why they considered him as the right leader for the nation, who can pave the path for reforming India. It is a shame that a leader who lead the nation through three major phases- the struggle of freedom, chaos after freedom, and reforming the country has to prove his worth after death. This book is a must-read for youths and children to see the truth beyond social media and understand the struggle for an independent India. #books #bookstagram #book #reading #booklover #bookworm #bookstagrammer #read #bookish #booknerd #bookaddict #bibliophile #booksofinstagram #instabook #love #bookshelf #bookaholic #reader #libros #b #bookphotography #booklove #art #libri #instabooks #booksbooksbooks #literature #readersofinstagram #author #bhfyp
Travel Tales by Rajeev Varma Rating - 4/5⭐ Thi Travel Tales by Rajeev Varma Rating - 4/5⭐ This journal lets you witness the world through the lens of a wanderer in his late adulthood. Rajeev along with his wife has ventured to exotic locations in Europe, Middle East, and Asia. All 180 pages of the journal are filled with a mesmerizing reminiscence of his travel experiences around the globe. With a vivid account of Mouthwatering dishes, glorious history, and magnificent monuments readers embark on a virtual journey of the world. Apart from destinations, the book is filled with delightful tales like the one when he visits the University of UK where his father has studied. I was amazed at the warmth shown by the University in welcoming him. Another one I find quite funny is the one related to the nightlife of Venice. For each destination, he has included a snippet of history which adds to the reader’s knowledge bank. Their particular interest in historical monuments maybe because of his wife being a student and teacher of history. It is not a “How-to” manual to plan the trips and ideal itinerary but a simple record of memories with beautiful pictures of the couple at these scenic locations. It is a travel journal with more of a tourist experience than a traveler experience. In no way it should be construed as one being superior to the other. Both are different ways and equally significant. The author has the luxury to book a sudden international journey the very next day, stay in palace kind of hotels, pre-booked cabs, and guided tours, while a traveler focuses on cost-effective ways to travel and explore by itself. I have been a tourist and traveler both, and both experiences have perks of their own.  I wish the author has put more detailed pictures of the masterpieces. This book opened up the scope of my travels to destinations like Jordan, which I never thought about visiting. Thanks to the author, I have added several destinations to my wish list. It is bliss to travel lovers. #books #bookstagram #book #reading #booklover #bookworm #bookstagrammer #read #bookish #booknerd #bookaddict #bibliophile #booksofinstagram #instabook #love #bookshelf #bookaholic #reader #libros #b #bookphotography
Book Review- Kashmir Aur Kashmiri Pandit by Ashok Book Review- Kashmir Aur Kashmiri Pandit by Ashok Kumar Pandey Rating - 5/5 ⭐ After “Kashmirnama”, the author has come up with yet another deeply researched piece of excellence. “Kashmir and Kashmiri Pandit” takes a deep dive into the plight of Kashmiri pandits throughout the lifetime of Kashmir (1500 years, to be precise). The book touches every ruler who put a foot in or ruled Kashmir. Based on published facts, this book is a complete account of the exodus. In the end, the author has published snippets of his interactions with locals who didn’t leave the state in 1990. It helps to see the situation from the point of view of a local Kashmiri. We sitting far away from Kashmir, blindly believes whatever is told to us through social media like it is devoid of any pandit now, all the temples in Kashmir were demolished or all the places with Hindu names have been changed. The author has blasted them by providing fact-based evidence, including photographs of grand temples, streets with Hindu names, and Interviews of pandits living there. The author doesn’t claim that attacks on temples never happened or names didn’t change but restrain from exaggerating the situation. For any event, he quotes 3-4 renowned author and then analysis their prejudices to understand who could be saying it accurately and who could be biased. Throughout the book, he has tried to maintain a balanced stance. However, his leftist ideology is palpable when he explains the situation from a Muslim’s angle. At many points, he seems biased and tries to mollify the intensity of the situation. It is an audacious and courageous attempt to put forward the real story of Kashmiri Pandits and how the situations worsened and reached exodus. Those of have read “Kashmirnama” may find a lot of similarities between these two. Although, the focus of this book is entirely on the story of the exodus. #books #bookstagram #book #reading #booklover #bookworm #bookstagrammer #read #bookish #booknerd #bookaddict #bibliophile #booksofinstagram #instabook #love #bookshelf #bookaholic #reader #libros #b #bookphotography #booklove #art #libri #instabooks #booksbooksbooks #literature #readersofinstagram #author

Book Review - LIfe Skills Author - Katie Fforde Book Review - LIfe Skills Author - Katie Fforde Rating - 3/5⭐ The story starts with Julia breaking up with her fiance Oscar and losing her job to someone younger and less experienced than her. Her horrible boss happened to be a friend of Oscar, although he has no role in her termination. She starts looking for a new job and found an opportunity as a cook on a boat. Regarding this, she meets the owner– a young, daddy’s little princess, who has no idea what to do with her life. Together they embark on a journey where both emerge out as sounder person. Julia, already 34 years old and not married, is constantly bugged by Oscar’s mother and other women about that. This point has been repeated over and over by different characters in different situations. One fine day her childhood family friend Fergus enters the boat. She is not happy about it because of horrible childhood memories with him. The moment he enters the boat, the storyline becomes predictable as Oscar is also onboard. Oscar helps her out and crew every time, and seems to be a charming guy. His mother is an impossible person with her brash and brusque talks. Fergus is also a nice guy, and it becomes difficult to understand her constant rejection for him, who is always in to lend a helping hand. Seldomly Julia’s thoughts become annoying, and I wanted to hold her shoulders and shake her to ask – what’s wrong with this guy? This book is not for intricate plots, in-depth romance, or heart-wrenching separation. The purpose is to give a light-hearted book . It is the kind of book you would like to bring to a beach holiday to relax. Do not expect a page-turner kind of fiction but simple and witty humor. #books #bookstagram #book #reading #booklover #bookworm #bookstagrammer #read #bookish #booknerd #bookaddict #bibliophile #booksofinstagram #instabook #love #bookshelf #bookaholic #reader #libros #b #bookphotography #booklove #art #libri #instabooks #booksbooksbooks #literature #readersofinstagram #author #bhfyp
Book Review - The Great Indian Novel. Author - Sha Book Review - The Great Indian Novel.
Author - Shashi Tharoor Rating - 5/5 ⭐ Internationally acclaimed and award-winning “The great Indian Novel” by the renowned author -Shashi Tharoor is a satirical masterpiece. Categorized as a fictional novel, it combines the epic of Mahabharata with modern Indian history. Every character of the novel draws a parallel with real-life characters and refers to true political events.
When this brilliant piece of writing is coming from a Congress Statesman, one will expect an unconscious bias towards keeping the image of his party immaculate. As an author, Shashi Tharoor has maintained an equitable stance everywhere. He has been cynical about the authoritative decisions of Indira Gandhi and almost painted her character as of a tyrant. I appreciate his candor and temerity to add humor to reverent characters of Indian epic and politics. Today when people are losing their funny bones and take umbrage at frivolous jokes, this book is sure to meet with revulsion from a section of society.
Well-known for his ways with words, the author has discreetly utilized his cavernous treasure of advanced vocabulary. Although, the reading experience stays untinged by it. Along with the story, he has added his views on politics, culture, people mindset, the meaning of “Dharma” etc.
It mixes politics with fiction, making it humorous, ribbing, entertaining, witty, and intelligent. It is not just an entertainer but a source of knowledge about Indian History in an amusing way. You must be aware of Mahabharat to savor the satirical flavor of this book.
This is probably one of the best Indian classic fiction books written to date in my view. “The Great Indian” in the title refers to Mahabharat. It is quite a lengthy novel, and nowhere gets ponderous or dragged. A must-read masterpiece!! #books #bookstagram #book #reading #booklover #bookworm #bookstagrammer #read #bookish #booknerd #bookaddict #bibliophile #booksofinstagram #instabook #love #bookshelf #bookaholic #reader #libros #b #bookphotography #booklove #art #libri #instabooks #booksbooksbooks #literature #readersofinstagram #author #bhfyp
Book Review - A Lullaby in the Desert Author - Mo Book Review - A Lullaby in the Desert
Author - Mojgan Azar Rating - 5/5 ⭐ Eulogizing little blessings of life, like being born in a free country and breathing in freedom, sounds frivolous unless we come across a story as told by Mojgan in “Lullaby in the desert”. It is an account of the grueling journey of Susan, which is heart wrenching and trepidatious. She seems to be always at the wrong place – an Iranian in Iraq, a female employee in all-male staff, a daughter in a patriarchal society, a woman in a men’s world. Patriarchy forces her to leave her country at a young age to escape a forced marriage with a man twice her age. Since then, she strives every other day with throes of life. Somehow she settles in her life in Erbil. It gets turn upside down with the advent of ISIS. As an Iranian, her situation is more purgatory than others. She decides to flee, and hence begins the gruesome sequence of murders, torture, bloodshed, guns, and brutal smugglers. Every life is in peril, be it women, children, or men. There are distasteful moments in the book capable of tearing apart its readers. Most of us know about the situation in middle-east countries like Syria, but this book takes you on a near-real arduous journey of these countries where you feel the anguish, see the brutality, and hear the screams. It is a compelling story, a page-turner, unputdownable. The entire story is wrapped in the thread of melancholy. I couldn’t guess what could happen next. Mojgan did an admirable job of keeping the readers on the edge. I wish the author has added an epilogue to tie up the threads of characters left in between and an afterlife of remaining characters. Overall, it is an exceptional story. A must-read for everyone. It won’t let you sleep. Escape by Emma Eggleston Rating – 4/5 ⭐ Matt Escape by Emma Eggleston Rating – 4/5 ⭐ Matty – A handsome, young teenage boy, most popular among students, favorite of his parents, girls drool for his attention. Inside, he is suffering from mental depression for reasons unknown to him. Everything around seems futile to him, he cries without any reason, and the worst part is that he is afraid of talking about it to anyone. That is what happens to a person going through mental depression. Outside, he is a semblance of a normal person. Inside, he feels smothered by unknown darkness. Matty is one such teenager, who musters the courage to confess it to his family. Doctors try several medications, and nothing works much. Then he gets prescribed an under-trial anti-depressant called “Effugium”. Whenever he takes it, he gets transported into another world. He time travels to his childhood, future, and unknown times under its influence. He shares a platonic relation with Laila, who is a girl next door. They are in the same grade, but Matty hardly noticed her before. They met during the summer job, and Matty felt a sense of comfort with her. He wants her to be a part of his “escapes”, as he named it. Like all other girls, she also gets attracted to Matty and concedes to the idea. As a debut novel, Emma has done a splendid job in crafting a gripping tale. The majority of the scenes are of their escapes, which could have been monotonous and mundane. Impressively, she managed to introduce enough variety to keep them captivating.
In between the story, I felt it somehow glorifies drugs (anti-depressant). As the target audience is young, it may mislead them. The impact could have been better if the POV was of Matty’s. Although practical, yet the ending is not that satisfying. Since we are in a fantasy, it could have been dreamy and fascinating.
This story is not about love and cliché romance sequences; it focuses on friendship, support, and bonding between two teenagers. #books #bookstagram #book #reading #booklover #bookworm #bookstagrammer #read #bookish #booknerd #bookaddict #bibliophile #booksofinstagram #instabook #love #bookshelf #bookaholic #reader #li
Book Review - Just go man by Patrick Warren Ratin Book Review - Just go man by Patrick Warren Rating - 4.5/5 ⭐ What is regular among all travel journals? They give you a placid picture of a destination, its glorious history, magnificent landscapes, and propitious interaction with locals. “Just Go Man” is also a travel journal supposed to be the same. But no, it is the opposite. Honest, diverse, one of its kind.

In this journal, Patrick has given a visceral account of his hiking and camping journey, carrying around 30 kg of weight throughout Croatia.
Each chapter has primarily three things – how he found a place to set up a camp, how much he walked, and the impertinent treatment he received at the hostel/café/restaurant. It sounds incredulous how almost every restaurant and citizen gave him brusque talks. I can relate to some encounters as I had also met irascible staff in a café and public transports in Europe. However, it got balanced out by some kind people. For Patrick, no friendly people were in sight. The positive side of this book is that it is a hilarious, honest, and easy read. Experiences of his camping and hiking with a heavy load, the adversities of subsisting each night at an unknown deserted place, are thrilling and trepidatious at the same time. It is not a “how-to” manual for camping and hiking, still, you may learn a thing or two. The groups who may get vexatious by the trenchant words of the author are – a country, a nationality, a continent, women, Hospitality staff, old age people, restaurants, cafes, and “people”, in general. The only group who will not be offended is – dogs. Readers may find the temerity of the author too condescending and scornful. However, I appreciate that. There could be two types of readers of this book those who will read it as the author’s experience and take his opinions lightly. Others, whose may get hurt. If you are in the second category, then better to skip this book rather than taking umbrage #books #bookstagram #book #reading #booklover #bookworm #bookstagrammer #read #bookish #booknerd #bookaddict #bibliophile #booksofinstagram #instabook #love #bookshelf #bookaholic #reader #libros #bookphotography
Rating - 4.5/5 ⭐ Life 2.0 is a tragic romance n Rating - 4.5/5 ⭐ Life 2.0 is a tragic romance novel with Mazey as the central character. Mazey lost her wife to an ill-fated incident and is going through the egregious agony of bereavement. She has no home, no family, and no friends. In this perverse time, her siblings from foster family realize it is incumbent upon them to give her much needed support. She tries to find solace with them at their home, where she seldom has to face trenchant and insolent comments from her foster mother. As if her life isn’t too intricate already that “Phoenix” comes face to face with her with whom she shares a long history. She struggles to choose between her “dead” wife and “living” love while handling the wrath of her wife’s mother. It is not a regular love story or a love triangle where three people fight to win their love. It is the decision between living and dead. The author has given a vivid account of Mazey’s sentiments. The reader connects with her, cries with her, and experiences her excruciating pain. The backstory is conveyed by merging it into the main story through dialogues and thoughts. It keeps the pace intact, and the story keeps on flowing and doesn’t drag at any point. It is the first book by Ciara, and her writing looks promising. All characters have their voices, flaws, and strong points. She has done a great job of putting everything together. If I could change something about the book, it would be the title, as I don’t find it appropriate. At a first glance, “Life 2.0” suggests a non-fiction book. Although it is relevant yet could have been much better.
I will recommend this book to those interested in reading something different in the romance genre. #books #bookstagram #book #reading #booklover #bookworm #bookstagrammer #read #bookish #booknerd #bookaddict #bibliophile #booksofinstagram #instabook #love #bookshelf #bookaholic #reader #libros #b #bookphotography #booklove #art #libri #instabooks #booksbooksbooks #literature #readersofinstagram #ciara_writes_ #mazeyandphoenix
Rating – 4/5 ⭐ “Whisper of the Lotus” is Rating – 4/5 ⭐ “Whisper of the Lotus” is a journey meandering through the life of a young woman – Charlotte. On a flight to Cambodia, she meets doctor Rashid and immediately developed a liking. He forgets an emotional and personal letter addressed to his bereaved son. She instigates a quest for Rashid’s son to deliver it, as she struggles to untangle the gnarled relation with her mother. Her search unfolds fascinating encounters with several characters. The story is well laid and is intriguing. Too many side characters don’t seem pertinent. The author might have added them for depth to the main character’s personality and give an excursion. Very tactfully the preachings of Buddhism are woven with the story, making them a part of it. Her encounter with a Buddhist monk gave her answers to many questions she was looking for. I relished her journey and couldn’t put the book down. I appreciate the author for her in-depth research. Nowhere in the book, she overemphasizes the landscapes, yet by the time you finish it, it appears disembarking from a prolonged journey through Cambodia. There were a few palpable flaws in the plot. An internet search was the turning point of the story. I kept wondering why she didn’t do it the moment she commenced searching for Chris. She has looked for all possible combinations of his name on the internet only and still, she didn’t check that keyword. Anyway, it is a nice entertaining. The first thing that attracted my attention was the beautiful cover. Book Review - River Queens: Saucy boat, stout mat Book Review - River Queens: Saucy boat, stout mates, spotted dog, America   Author – Alexander Watson Rating - 4/5 ⭐ River queens is a journey on a wooden boat sailing from Oklahoma to Ohio. If you have never been on a river journey, then come aboard. The book is like a travel journal where Alexander has recounted his long boat ride and his encounter with numerous diverse characters including a dog. Throughout the book, you will be sailing on that boat with various fervent people around.
Conversations between people they met along the way steal the show. Their funny banters will make you smile all the way. Technicalities with a boat are explained in such depth that one day you might be able to repair a few problems by yourself. It is kind of a manual for sailors who wish to operate a wooden yacht combined with quirky tales of the journey. This book will of interest to the adventurers who love the river and wish to embark upon a virtual voyage. It won’t disappoint you in this context. It is not a fictional novel but more of a memoir to bring you closer to a river lifestyle. I enjoyed reading it. Rating – 3/5 stars Author – Edward Kopko “P Rating – 3/5 stars
Author – Edward Kopko “Project Bold life” is meant to provide insight into goal-setting and goal achievements. Unlike the regular motivational or self-help book, it provides you with worksheets, formulas, planners to decide your preferences and plan to achieve them. No one can deny the importance of goals in their life; this book guides you stepwise to categorize your priorities and convert them into aims and then plan.
First, when we talk about bold life and bold goals, the author is expected to clarify what he means by “bold” here as it is a relatable term with a different meaning to different people. The word “Bold” is repeated so many times like, in every second line as if repeating it would make the context clear.
Having gone through many management books, I didn’t find the ideas too fresh. For instance, it talks about SMART goals – a concept I read years ago and is well known among most of us. In these kinds of books, stories of real people usually are inspirational and thought-provoking. In contrast, in this book, almost none of them are motivational enough, and I find some non-relatable to the topic being discussed.
I find the content pretty average and is lacking a cohesive flow. In the initial chapters, it is spread all over the places. If you are new to the concept of goal settings, then you may still give it a shot. #books #bookstagram #book #reading #booklover #bookworm #bookstagrammer #read #bookish #booknerd #bookaddict #bibliophile #booksofinstagram #instabook #love #bookshelf #bookaholic #reader #libros #b #bookphotography #booklove #art #libri #instabooks #booksbooksbooks #literature #readersofinstagram #author #bhfyp
Author - Jared Woods Rating - 4 / 5 ⭐ This is t Author - Jared Woods
Rating - 4 / 5 ⭐ This is the first book I read on this kind of subject and would call it surprisingly practical. It is a guide for 30 days to those in grief and going through emotional turbulence. For each day, it suggests a task/idea to perform.
The book starts with an introduction by the author, and he shares the ordeal of his own breakup. Envisioning yourself in his situation is going to give you chills. The author has utilized his own experience to write this book. Among the ideas mentioned, most of them are distraction techniques like going out, meeting friends, pampering yourself. A few are cliché like deleting the phone number and blocking them from all social media as this is the first thing anyone does even when there is a minor scuffle. Some are really good, which may not heal your heart, however will definitely improve your lifestyle. A helpful trick is mentioned to deal with the urge to send a text or call to your ex, as I believe this is the weakest point for all after a breakup.
I am not going through the predicament of breakup agony currently, so I can’t say whether these techniques will heal your wound. Although one thing is guaranteed that you will come up as a better person with a better lifestyle if you perform all the tasks.
Claiming the effectiveness of the book is difficult once you come face to face with your ex after say 60 days. One weak moment is enough to shatter all the efforts you have been putting in making yourself strong. Still, it is worth a try. Overall, I liked the book and the idea. #books #bookstagram #book #reading #booklover #bookworm #bookstagrammer #read #bookish #booknerd #bookaddict #bibliophile #booksofinstagram #instabook #love #bookshelf #bookaholic #reader #libros #b #bookphotography #booklove #art #libri #instabooks #booksbooksbooks #literature #readersofinstagram #author #bhfyp

Rating - 5/5 ⭐ As an avid traveler, I have nume Rating - 5/5 ⭐ As an avid traveler, I have numerous places on my bucket list to visit; Japan was never one of them. After reading this remarkable memoir by CJ, I am craving to go and visit this marvelous country of disciplined citizens, delightful festivals, and unique ethnicity. Going through every chapter, I have seen a part of Japan through the eyes of CJ. I sensed I am roaming around the city of Takayama with cute kittens around. One of the main perks of travel is that you are a better person as the trip ends. CJ shared her journey of being a person who wants to run away from everything to a responsible person taking control of her life. She gave the credit for her transformation and finding her "ikigai" to her cat that she found on the streets. Being from an Asian country, I could relate to most cultural things like family bonding, yet many were surprising, like a common day to switch to summer attire, common baths, and extremely polite citizens. CJ has excelled in her craft with her wondrous writing skills. The book is said to be a memoir, but it is as interesting as a fiction novel. Each chapter tells the story of a different place and a different episode. The reader gets immersed in the lanes and cities of Japan. Generally, in my reviews, I mention a few points of improvement but with this book, I couldn’t find any. It is so perfect. Whether you are a traveler or not, memoir is your genre or not, you are a pet lover or not, still this book is recommended for all. It is not wrong to say this is not just a book but an elaborated experience in itself.

Rating - 4/5 ⭐ “Blood and Bones” - is all a Rating - 4/5 ⭐ “Blood and Bones” - is all about friendship, love, relationships, combined with a passion for music. Jack is a Rockstar who survived a violent and alienated childhood. Mia is that one friend who accompanied him through all thick and thins. They both wrote lyrics for songs together and fled to make up their career. Their relationship gets complicated, and these two, although inseparable, could not be together. But life goes on… While reading the book, it never occurred to me that it is the work of a first-time author. Narration is up to the mark, and so is the storytelling. The story keeps on hopping between past and present without losing its fluidity. Jack’s character is deeply developed, and the reader gets connected to him. The same kind of characterization was required for Mia and Amber too. At places, I wanted to know the reason behind their strange relationship choices. Author takes you to a musical journey to cherish and enjoy. At some point, Jack told Erin that he is the bad guy, and she will get to know him once she listens to the whole story. I expected a turn in the events, which didn’t happen. So much has been talked about how much Jack loves her daughter, and after some years, she started hating him. The required explanation wasn't given as to how and when this relationship took a turn? Overall, a good story and a good read. It is a gift for music and book lovers. I recommend this book. Kudos to Paula, who did such an excellent job in her first book. #books #bookstagram #book #reading #booklover #bookworm #bookstagrammer #read #bookish #booknerd #bookaddict #bibliophile #booksofinstagram #instabook #love #bookshelf #bookaholic #reader #libros #b #bookphotography #booklove #art #libri #instabooks #booksbooksbooks #literature #readersofinstagram #author #bhfyp

Subsurface History of Humanity by Victor Torvich . Subsurface History of Humanity by Victor Torvich

Recommended for those who love boats and rivers and want to know more about them. #books #bookstagram #book #reading #booklover #bookworm #bookstagrammer #read #bookish #booknerd #bookaddict #bibliophile #booksofinstagram #instabook #love #bookshelf #bookaholic #reader #libros #b #bookphotography #booklove #art #libri #instabooks #booksbooksbooks #literature #readersofinstagram #author #bhfyp
